Headed down to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge.

Anyone know of any great places I should stop by, especially lesser known outdoor destinations?

Wish I could say there were great places there, but not so much from my recent experience. There is a nice Christmas store and a few other specialty shops that are good for picking up gifts for people...that's about the best we did.

A place that's really cool to go to is the "Comedy Barn." I personally thought it was going to be some cheesy comedy, but it surprised me. Also, the scenery there is amazing, and there's plenty of different kinds of shops, there, to appeal to all of your tastes.

When I was there on my honeymoon my new wife and I went to a great restaurant called the Open Hearth. But that was in 1993 so who knows if it's still there. If so, check it out. As I recall, the prime rib was excellent.

It's still there. Info is here (scroll down).
