I just read that it's a vicious cycle. You get over weight, you can get apnea. Having apnea you get less sleep and gain weight.
So, why not lose as much weight as possible. As soon as possible? I know someone who did just that and is OK, now.

Muck is right. When I was diagnosed I was told that my sleep apnea was caused by a few factors. Mainly that my tongue is set back in my mouth and in addition I have a low roof mouth. Those combination of factors lead to my sleep apnea more than my weight.
