Slam Nation's Kadour Ziani

I think you mean David Thompson from NC State's 1973-74 championship team. He and Dr. J had some real dunk-fests in the ABA in the mid-70's.

that's just totally freakin' embarrassing. I actually meant Darrell Griffith (Dr Dunkenstein) from Loouisville, who followed Thompson by about 7 years. thompson truly could jump out of the gym, as could the Dr.
Thompson's vert was supposed to be about 42", so the media had to say that Griffith's was 44", and the escalation went from there.

BTW, one of my all-time fave college teams was Thompson's Nat'l Ch. team, with Burleson and Monty Towe(sp?). I remember trying to will myself to stay awake to watch their triple-OT (I think) game with UCLA that year.

The kid is impressive, dunking and all. But 5'11 is not all that short.

Hell I know the RB at Brookhaven(Markell Lacy) is 5'2-5'3 and he can dunk. He can't do all that, but still.

But still, great find.

You dont have to lie to look cool Teddy....

Ive got $100, thats says you could not find a high school kid anywhere in this country that is no taller then 5'3 that can dunk....

That team also had Tim Stoddard, a 6'7" guy that ended up pitching for the Orioles.

I looked up that Final 4 game with UCLA, actually double-OT. NC State then beat Marquette in the final.
