Regardless of which stats of Statons are correct, they'll be taking a serious hit this weekend, along with Stanton himself.

I agree Mili. I think the bucks are really going to pound MSU. I just didn't see much from them on defense against Michigan and Notre Dame. They won the second game despite letting Notre Dame come back just when they should have put them away. Same, same their loss to Michigan.

The biggest surprise to me is putting Young ahead of Leinart. I don't dispute what SI wrote about Young, and I don't like Leinart or USC, but the stats don't lie:

Leinart: 108/166 for 1646 yards, 65.1 comp %, 12 TD, 3 INT, 114.2 rating
Young: 68/109 for 1021 yards, 62.4 comp %, 10 TD, 5 INT, 104.6 rating
Young also has about 350 yds rushing and 2 TD.

Furthermore, while it is true UT isn't the same team without Young, USC isn't the same team without Leinart. Take him out, and they lose at least one of their first five games. Not that I think the "what does the player mean to his team" is relevant to All-American selection criteria, but to the extent that it is, I'm not sure Young wins out incredibly over Leinart; at least, not to cover the discrepancy in statistics.
Has Leinart even faced a defense this year? He has struggled in a couple games to get going, but fortunately the Pac10 is a league you can struggle for most of the game and then put up infinite amounts of points later on. Put any of the top 20 QBs in america on USC's team, and they will have very comparable numbers.

Drew Stanton is the best QB out of VY, ML and DS. I have not seen the TxTech guy play to judge him. VY is the best leader, and should be the front runner in the Heisman. Stanton should be the #2 QB, tho that campaign will take a big hit this week. Leinart should have to face one decent defense, which sadly will not happen ALL YEAR (grrr).

Leinart is not the reason they came from behind in those games. He helped, but the reason is Mr. Bush, who should have won the heisman last year and should be (but might not be) Mr. Young's main competition this year.

All the Heiman talk's ok, and I agree with what you say, but the question here is who is the first team All-American QB. I'm not sure I agree with you that Stanton's a better QB than Leinart--I've seen both of them play several times, and Leinart has a better ability to hit the receiver in stride than does Stanton.
