Ben Johnson? I know he wasn't a US olympian - he was Canadian. But we all rallied around him after he lost his world records, right?
Or... Tim Donaghy - What happened to him? I'm surprised he isn't throwing out the first pitch at Opening Day, or running for congress.

Didn't someone else bring up 1950-ish basketball? Some point-shaving thing. Didn't all of those players go on to inspire our forces to win the Korean War, or something?
Eff off, Jimmy. America likes the story where both teams rally around a player going through a cardiac arrest. Or a the walk-on player who goes on to get drafted and wins the Super Bowl (I don't know if it actually happened). America doesn't like the story where a team cheats, says "Eff you," to anyone who suggests a punishment, and basically flaunts that they just don't want to be found guilty, "yet".

He’s more like Lance Armstrong…dirty as absolute fuck, cheating like a Springer guest, but still somehow acting indignant at the mere suggestion of malfeasance while dripping with self-sanctimony and threatening to destroy anyone who tries to expose his house of cards.

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh said he plans to attend a court hearing Friday where a judge will hear arguments on whether to grant a restraining order that would nullify the Big Ten's three-game suspension of the coach.

"I've always felt like it'd be cool to get up there and thunder away at a jury like Tom Cruise in 'A Few Good Men' or be a judge. Alas, I did not go to law school," he said. "This will be the first time I've ever really been in this situation."
