Signing Day '08 Discussion

The other thing that confounds me re: PSU is that Pryor has visited there "unofficially" the most of any of the schools on his short list. A big part of me thinks that TP "shocks the world" and announces anyway (despite the reports) and that the new "100% won't announce" info is simply another attempt to build suspense. I may be a little optimistic in this respect, and I admit that. However, to me, the "well, I really should look closer at PSU" information doesn't gel with the history of TP's recruitment.

Thi thread is for signing day discussion...not a place to circumvent the Pryor thread being close...let's keep this about kids who ARE signing today.

Benefit of the doubt

Doesn't Terrelle's father have some medical problems? I remember that being a strike against Mich1gAAn. If so, it makes sense for him to want his son to be close to home.

I also don't see this as grandstanding, but as a kid trying to balance conflicting emotions. I work with college students, and have found that the input and impact that their parents have on them is more significant than it was when I was growing up as a Gen-Xer. For instance, look at Keith "Predator" Wells- we wouldn't have gotten him if mom hadn't loved JT.

If this is the reason for the conflict (parental opinion), I'm willing to see that as a good thing. A young man who respects and honors his folks is exactly the type of player that fits into the Buckeye family.

My $.02

Closing this thread for a few minutes so everyone can read my post and OSUBucks22's post...this thread is not for discussion about Pryor...every point about the kid has been expressed and exhausted. This thread is about kids that are signing TODAY...

Alright, I'm gonna open this back up... But everyone play by the rules or it goes bye-bye...

UM lost a big one in Nick Perry (USC)... He was a crucial defensive recruit for them...

I think chi chi rodriguez might be working at Taco bell next year:biggrin:

I was just checking out the recruiting classes within the B-10 and realized something: Every Big Ten school, with the exception of Minnesota, signed at least one player in their class from an Ohio High School. WOW! That goes to show the place of prominence Ohio holds in football. Anyway... now that my oddball info has been shared, we now return you to your regularly scheduled recruiting news and Terelle Pryor banter.

Not likely for Omameh to jump on board...

Interesting news from the Rivals Wire...

McGuffie putting off decision?

Cypress (Texas) Cy Fair running back Sam McGuffie was scheduled to sign his letter of intent with Michigan this morning, but he could be having second thoughts.

After a visit to California this past weekend, McGuffie was considering the Golden Bears. As of noon Eastern, McGuffie is considering not signing today, delaying his decision between Michigan and Cal.
