I don't have the link...check out the front page of cnnsi.com

1. USC
2. Texas
3. Florida
4. scUM
5. Tennecheat
6. Cryami
7. OU
8. OSU
9. Vtech
10. Georgia

Gee, how many consecutive years will it be that scUM fails to live up to preseason hype? :slappy:

My sentiments exactly. As I've said before, it seems these days that in order to get a good preseason ranking, all you have to do is win your last game of the season or otherwise create a buzz, such as by landing a big-name coach. It's pathetic.

Just how in the fuck does Florida go from a 7-5 team to #3 in the country? Do they really think Meyer is going to make that much of a difference that fast?
while i think that #3 is a stretch, the talent is there, and the schedule is favorable... the Crocs get to beat the shit out of the sisters of the poor in the OOC schedule, and get to beat the shit out of Vandy, Kentucky, Miss St in the SEC schedule... that's six wins right there... all the Crocs really need to do is beat a moribund Free Shoes squad, and a depleted Georgia team whom even Ron Zook owned... after that, it's all about Tennecheat...

I agree Mili. Alex Smith looked pretty bad in 2003, Meyer's first season there. They had a pretty good running game, but that was about it. Their defense won most of the games (10-2) that year for them. Remember that 3-0 game against BYU? Their offense also looked awful in their bowl game.

That tells me that it'll probably take a while for the Florida players to get acclimated to the sproption. Maybe not a whole season, but definitely a few games at the least.

And it's gonna be really weird seeing Leak run the option.

Overrated: UT, Miami, Florida (probably), scUM

At least they were smart enough to not put Iowa in the top 10.
if you mean Tenn when you say UT then disregard this post,

but how exactly is UT overrated when Florida gets a qualifing remark? if you want to say texas is overrated fine, but Florida has had every bit the "problem" winning with tallent as texas has. cant we at least get a qualifier?

I don't worry about Florida. IMO the SEC season is harder to sweep than any other conference.

My vote for Athletic Director of the Decade goes to the guy who put Florida State in the ACC. It'll be tougher this year, but that's like having to beat Purdue and Michigan State to win the Big Ten.

I think our ranking is a reflection of last year when we were clearly ranked too high. The pollsters obviously want to see us win some games... then I think we'll skyrocket. When we beat Texas we'll be in the top five. After Iowa number 2.

I hope you are wrong about beating texas but I think that you are correct when you say that you will skyrocket. I think that most pollsters feel that they need a validation in their feelings about tOSU

Florida was 7-5 last year. OSU was 8-4. Both OSU (vs Michigan) and Florida (at FSU) had big wins at the end of the regular season last year. The only difference in the 2 teams is that OSU got to play Oklahoma State in a Bowl game while Florida played Miami. I think both OSU and Florida were similar last year in terms of how their season played out. I think both Florida and OSU should be ranked similar to each other, and for the most part they are.
