Should MWC/Big East split the automatic BCS bid?

There have been some MWC teams in recent years with pretty good records. I'm wondering if it is time for them to split the bid with the Big East should the Big East winner have a so so year.

I think automatic bids should go.

Take the top 10-12 in the BCS standings.

Why would any conference want to accept a 1/2 bid to automatic $16 million payouts... the Big East wants to keep theirs at all cost, and the MWC is doing its best to DESERVE an auto-bid. I think that the BCS is willing to acknowledge the MWC's increasing levels of competition and will probably add them as the 7th conference. I think they should too, but we will see how 2010-11 fares for the Mountain West.
