Should Jamelle Cornley add the Mike Hart Award to his collection?

According to former Ohio Mr. Basketball and Brookhaven standout, Jamelle Cornley, it was time to achieve some goals in his last year at Penn
State. So, when he ran through a list of his goals, beating Ohio State was right at the top of the list.

One cannot blame Cornley for feeling some antagonism for Ohio State. Coach Jim O'Brien virtually ignored him despite his credentials. So he left the state to play at Penn State.

As much as he wanted to win against Ohio State, Cornley never did. In fact, in the game last night, he helped his team run their losing streak to 11 straight losses against the Buckeyes. Should this kind of dedication and achievement go unrecognized?

Is Cornley's achievement is reminiscent of that other great Ohio player who left to play for another Big Ten team. And so, here is a question for the BuckeyePlanet, should Jamelle Cornley
add one more award to his resume? Does he deserve a Mike Hart Award in recognition of his auspicious achievement, even if he didn't bring his bicycle to games in Columbus?

I'll wait till after the Big Ten tournament to vote on this, but I'd say yes given we don't lose to Penn State in the tournament. I always enjoy it when an Ohio guy who goes to another school goes their whole career without beating us.

He's from Ohio and he's 0-7 against the Buckeyes, so he's a candidate.

But as already mentioned, the Big 10 tourney could set up a rematch. It's unlikely, though, as the teams would either have to finish 4-5, both knock off a top-3 team, or meet in the finals after a rash of upsets.

But since he didn't get a Buckeye offer, it wasn't his choice that made him an opponent, so I don't think of him in the same way as C. Woodson/D. Howard.

Jamelle Cornley is from Columbus and grew up a diehard Buckeyes fan, and went to PSU after we didn't offer. He just wanted to show the staff that he was worth an offer, but he's probably a Buckeye at heart.

mike hart is from New York, went to tsun, and frequently ran his mouth about how much he hated us.

Completely different situations.

They were talking about how Cornely would consider playing TE if the NFL gave him a shot... I'd be happy for him if he made it. With hart, I hope his NFL career fails miserably.

The Tyrelle Sutton Award is more appropriate here--both are Ohio kids that didn't get offers from OSU and who vowed to get even and beat OSU, but never got it done.

Good call...more Sutton than Hart, and hey, Cornley wasn't hurt and whining all the time, as far as I've seen, nor has he said if we played them 50 more times, we'd win all 50, we just didn't win this one, so it's not really Hartian.

The mike hart award is not about failure, it's about his mouth writing checks his body couldn't cash.

Has Cornley said that much?

No, he hasn't. To flip the tables, if a Penn State fan said something similar about a potential award for Terrelle Pryor (yes, I know he's only a freshman, but he's still from PA and hasn't beaten PSU yet), would you be pissed? I would.

Cornley's a completely different category from Hart. Lots of kids from Columbus want to be Buckeyes. Not everyone can.

I wish Cornley well in all games except vs. OSU. I wish Mike Hart no such luck.

Can't blame him for wanting to play well against the Buckeyes and get a W. Like said before, I wish him well in every game he plays. Even against the buckeyes....Just that we pull out the win:)
