I say yes, going to page 51 to read a response to a current post is absurd, and it's only done for the ego of the original poster to be preserved. I think if a thread has been on the board for a month, it is time to archive it. I remember, back in the day, this was a common practice on some boards.

But it was never a common practice on this board.

If you don't like the structure of the forums you are free to go elsewhere.
