CAPE CORAL, FL -- After stuffing six designer purses in her pants, police say a shoplifter was run over twice by her own getway car.

A security guard told cops she saw the woman stuff a half dozen Dooney & Bourke purses worth $1,200 in her pants and then walk out the door. The guard went out and confronted the woman when a car pulled up.

The woman got in the car, then fell out and was run over. She got up, jumped on the hood of the car, fell off and was run over again as the car was driving away.

Unbelieveably, she got up again and finally made it into the vehicle, which then sped away.

There's one thing that didn't make it into the car: a personal check the woman dropped during her botched getaway. Police are using the check and the car's license plate number to track her down.
