So Mike what do you think is next for the Wings, a total rebuild around Datsuyk and Zetterberg? I agree with you that they have gotten old.

Is Howard really the guy for them in net? Holmstrom looks more done to me than Lidstrom...

Would you have pulled Howard when they had the power play in the last 3 minutes to really force the pressure to tie it. Definitely risky but hell it was game 7 after all....

Nah I wouldn't have pulled HOward. As bad as their power play was last night, I think the Sharks had more shots shorthanded than the Wings did on the power play.

The most important thing we saw this year in general and this series in particular is Datsyuk and Zetterberg need to be split up so the lines are more balanced. When those two have been combined the 2nd line hasn't been worth a shit unless Bert bulldogs his way to the net and that only happened once or twice a week.

I don't know if a complete rebuild is warranted but I wouldn't be sad if guys like Rafalski and Ericcson would disappear from the lineup. Also, I agree Holmstrom is likely done as is Draper, Modano and maybe Bertuzzi. We will have to see, I do think next year will be a transition year, but we'll see what happens.

Oh yeah, Hudler needs to go back to Russia. He brought absolutely nothing to this team this year except a cap hit of over 2 Million.

He had a concussion, which I think goes without explanation. I kind of doubt he was going to be back for the San Jose series.

The worrisome one is Bert, they said he had a concussion, but the only hit I remember seeing was him hitting someone.
