I'm of the opinion that if I'm going out to a restaurant and paying money at that restaurant - I'll let them do the cooking. Seems only fair.
That said - Shabu Shabu looks to be similar to fondue. You take your special lady friend to a fondue restaurant when you want a romantic dinner out and (potentially) a fierce HJ on the ride home.

They give you raw meat (or seafood) in very thin slices, which you dip (cook) in a hot broth. They'll also give you rice, veggies, and dipping sauces and such. It's fun. I'd rather have sushi, though.
