Senior shooting guard helped USA to three exhibition victories, team toured French Riviera.

Since June 12, Marscilla Packer, a senior guard on the Ohio State women's basketball team, has tried out and made USA Basketball's U21 World Championship team. The squad trained in Colorado Springs, Colo., until June 16 before traveling to France for three exhibition games vs. the French U21 National team. The Americans won all three games.
Throughout trials, the trip to France and the exhibition contests, USA Basketball has provided diaries for each player on the team. Here is Packer's latest entry after touring Cannes and the French Riviera. Packer Entry No. 3
"Wow. I kind of feel bad. I wish my family could see what we saw, especially in Cannes the other day. That was just gorgeous, the water, being able to eat right there on the beach and stuff. That was really amazing. It was one of my favorite parts so far.

USA U21 Women Claw Back From 16-Point Deficit For 90-88 Win Over Australia

Never giving up, despite falling into an early double-digit deficit, the USA Basketball Women's U21 World Championship Team (1-0) tipped-off play Friday morning at the 2007 FIBA U21 World Championship with a hard-fought 90-88 victory over Australia (0-1) in Moscow, Russia. Paving the USA's road to victory were USA team captain Candice Wiggins' (Stanford / San Diego, Calif.) 30 points and Crystal Langhorne's (Maryland / Willingboro, N.J.) double-double of 24 points and 16 rebounds, including 10 on the offensive end. "It was coming from everybody, the bench, the coaches, the people on the court, everybody was always telling us we're going to get back," said Wiggins. "Everyone was believing in it, it was really genuine. In our hearts we knew we were going to come back. That says a lot about our team and I'm so excited. It was our first game, but it was a huge win for us."

Packer scored 10 points for the second time in as many games and pitched in with three rebounds, three assists and a set of steals as the Americans advanced to a semifinal meeting with host Russia Saturday.
Packer scored her 10 on 4-9 FG shooting in 18 minutes off the bench. She went 1-4 from beyond the 3-point arc and turned in a pair of the Americans' 16 steals.
