Dear Penthouse forums,

I didn't think these kinds of things would ever happen to me...wait. Wrong letter.

So I am out here to let little Jax work with Driveline for pitching and see where that leads. Started last Friday and will go through first week in August. I tell you that to start a stream of shit that has happened and see if anyone gives a tinker's damn.

So Saturday 6/12,( Dday +1) I am at a gym in Kent and both little Jax and I are representing tOSU in gear and not 10 minutes into it the ubiquitous group of monstrously large humans signals he wants to talk to me so I'm thinking 'oh here we go, this poor dumb bastard is going to have to catch a beating' and what does he say? "O-H!"

Turns out he's from Kenya, studied at OSU for 4 years and is now enjoying the Pacific NW.

So you have a dude from Kenya giving a guy from Philly an ""O-H" in a gym in Kent WA on site.

Buckeye Nation is legion.

More to come, if anyone gives a fuck, over the next two months I'm sure.

and is now enjoying the Pacific NW.

Why is Washington called the "Pacific Northwest". I don't know geography very well, but I'm pretty sure that Washington is in the Northeast part of the Pacific Ocean.
"Pacific Northwest" should refer to the area north of Korea and Japan. Maybe this belongs in the Pet Peeves thread. Oh well. Time to go see if there's any new information in the getting healthy thread...

Well, if Ohio can be flagship of the "Northwest Territory", and Ann Arbor be home to the "Harvard of the West", I think it should be pretty clear that Americans are directionally challenged.

@Jaxbuck - you picked a great week to come out, for weather's sake.
I've lived out here for around 15 years; let me know if you need any recommendations. Hell, we can scout out sites for the BP road trip and tailgate spectacular in 2024.
My daughter and I are going on an 8 mile hike in the Cascades on Saturday morning, if you're feeling adventurous early in the morning (I like to hit the trailhead at 6).

The boy's baseball isn't done until around 1 on Saturday but we are planning on going up into Seattle proper after that. Space Needle, undergound, fish market and Mariners game is on the list. Mariners are the only one I'm sure of on Saturday night. We are down in Tacoma for the airBnB and his training is over in Kent so we haven't made it up to Seattle itself yet. Going to catch the AAA team here in Tacoma when they get back in July.

Great part of the boy getting older is that he can drive but isn't old enough to drink so I have a built in DD.

Gotcha...

When you go to the Needle, be sure to take a moment to go to Kerry Park- that's the spot for your iconic Seattle view photo (particularly in the evening).

The Museum of Glass in Tacoma is cool (if it's open), and Stadium High School is an interesting vista- Point Defiance park is also a good place to go wandering in nature while not leaving civilization. Fish Peddler (near Museum of Glass) and Lobster Shop (near Pt. Defiance) would be the best bets for good seafood, and both are right on the water.

Have fun!!
