no matter what search engine i use, if i click one of the results, i get redirected to random irrelevant sites.
hit the browser's back button, and click same link, and it will take you somewhere completely different.

happens in IE or firefox.
doesn't matter if i use google, yahoo, bing, etc.

i've run malwarebytes, ad-aware, spybot

they all find like 1 or 2 minor problems, and fix them, but my problem doesn't go away.

any one ever have this issue? how can i fix it?

edit: now my antivirus (avira) program is fucked. will no longer scan, won't let me update it, and i can't uninstall it to re-intall it.

I would suggest rebooting in Safe Mode and downloading ClamWin or Spybot Search and Destroy (or any other free AV software). Try nuking your current antivirus while you're in Safe Mode as well. As soon as you have an alternate antivirus downloaded, disconnect yourself from the internet physically. If you know what you're doing, look for Registry problems, check your Program Files, and look for recurring problems that Spybot is picking up on.

Sounds like you could have some fun manual virus hunting issues. Or you could just switch to Mac
