My friend at scum just sent me this, knowing i love to see any problems with the school....
"Today, the GSI's (graduate student instructors) at U of M staged a walkout to (I believe) increase their monthly stipend and secure cheaper health insurance. I normally wouldn't care (in fact, it was nice to get out of Spanish today), but this is apparently the second time in three years that they've done this, and being yelled at for going to other classes in which I have things I legitimately need to get done is obnoxious. Besides:

UM GSI's receive some of the highest stipends of any graduate instructors in the country, in addition to receiving free tuition."
