scUM putting $200 million in the Toilet

All they have to do at the outhouse to enlarge the capacity is repaint the seats like they did before. Just make the new seats 4 inches wide instead of 6 inches.

I have been there several times and I still say it is a 80,000 seat stadium squeezing in 107,000. Moral to the story is don't stand up or you may never set down again.

P.S. : Don't ask an usher where you seat is or you will be told to just find a seat in your row and set down. Scum people (even ushers) have to constantly show their intelligence.

I have never been to the OutHouse myself, but everyone I know who has went to that god forsaken place has said the same exact thing, even a couple scummer fans that I know. I have also heard that despite as many people as they cram in that hell hole, it doesn't get half as loud as you think it would.

That's true, and we're hoping the renovations fix that. The luxury suites should help hold the sound in to make it louder for visiting teams.

Maybe I was just lazy and skimmed the article too fast, but what happens in the years during which the stadium is being upgraded? I also was in MI and didn't follow the campus activities (but I did root on the bucks, as disappointing as they were until my senior year in '01 when I heard the big house silent all 1st half ) as closely during the tOSU upgrade, so I'm clueless here.

Do these renovations take place during the offseason only? The article said it would take multiple years. What do they do in the meantime? Just not have people in those seats?

Regardless of the artistic merits of the place 107,000 is an impressive number... and there are no posts to block the view, posts that still remain at Ohio Stadium. Nonetheless, I remember getting one of those mass e-mailings last fall labeled "Southern football vs Northern Football." One line contained something about half-filled 30,000 seat stadiums. When you look at the list of Big 10 stadiums and see three that hold over 100,000 you wonder where such nonsense begins. If I'm not mistaken only Tennessee in the SEC has a 100,000 seat stadium... and no one in the Big 12. You can't beat Big 10 football.

Phil Callihan is PhilC on a dumbass michigan site. He is an asswipe. Not that this pertains in any way to this conversation. I just wanted to point that out.
