Michigan may have failed to make the NCAA Tournament, but it won't cost Coach Tommy Amaker his job.

Despite Michigan's failure to make the NCAA tournament, athletic director Bill Martin said coach Tommy Amaker's job is safe. Martin reiterated his priorities, in order: academics, ethical standards, winning financial solvency. In his five seasons as head coach, Amaker has stabilized the first two and made progress on the third. Amaker's contract runs through the 2010-11 season and has a $900,000 buyout clause. But for those who believe next year becomes Amaker's barometer: Think again.
