I don’t know, going around an accident is wrong to begin with. Is he special? Does he have traffic rights others don’t and he doesn’t have to obey traffic laws?

What would happen to one of us if we had done what he did? No one would give 2 shits if this was one of us and there would be no question around the charges.

I love the cop is an asshole so that makes Scheffler innocent argument I see being promoted.

Cop can be an asshole and Scheffler can be guilty of violating traffic laws.

Scheffler was told by tournament security further back the road to go around the scene since Valhalla only has one traffic entrance.

The officer in question did not know that and approached Scheffler and told him to stop.

Lack of communication was the only issue.

I do not blame either man in this instance.

On a side note, this is one of many reasons that I believe Valhalla will not host another major in my lifetime.

I agree except for the idiot in uniform lying and instigating a scene. He could have easily just walked over to where Scheffler parks and cited him and went on his way. Our society is doomed

Criminal charges have been dropped against world No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler after the Jefferson County Attorney's Office in Louisville, Kentucky, said it would not pursue the case that stemmed from a traffic incident outside the PGA Championship earlier this month.

Jefferson County Attorney Mike O'Connell asked for the charges to be dismissed with prejudice -- meaning they can't be filed again in the future -- during a court hearing Wednesday.

"Based upon the totality of the evidence, my office cannot move forward in the prosecution of the charges filed against Mr. Scheffler," O'Connell said. "Mr. Scheffler's characterization that this was a 'big misunderstanding' is corroborated by the evidence. The evidence we reviewed supports the conclusion that Detective [Bryan] Gillis was concerned for public safety at the scene when he initiated contact with Mr. Scheffler. However, Mr. Scheffler's actions and the evidence surrounding their exchange during this misunderstanding do not satisfy the elements of any criminal offenses."

Just sayin': Scottie Scheffler is having on hell of a year (on and off the golf courses).

It has been so fun to watch Scottie this year, absolute dominance considering how talented the field is. He's gotta keep it up to get in the talks with all-time greats if you look at longevity, but the last couple of years have been so damn impressive.
