Scale of 1-100 How happy are you? With life & your marriage/gf?

Cornerback6

Optimism Lover
With psychology having been my first love, I am a big fan of digging around in other people's heads and seeing how happy they are in life as well as their relationships. OR how unhappy they are. I psychoanalyze everything and I try to fix everyone's life which usually annoys more than it does help. I ask just about every person I meet this question in real life, so I thought I'd drop it on the board and see what the general consensus mood is of we 20-50 year old guys.

Sounds unrealistic, but I've hit a pinnacle in my life and right now so my scores are extremely high. I'm disgustingly optimistic and happy as it is...but here goes...

I'd say...

Life 96
Relationship (new g/f) 97

interesting topic.......i'm much the same as you cornerback, psycho-analyze to the point of annoying others.........as ironic as this seems i'd have to go with

Life: 60
Wife: 95 (i'd say 100, but in a perfect world i'd change a few things)

i may be opening myself to some attacks on this one!!........but the reason for the lower life score would be unfulfilled potential and things that i should have control over or should be doing that i'm not, such as allowing myself to gain way too much weight, reading/exercising more, spending too much time on message boards instead of making more money :biggrin: , etc.

Mistri - you need to put Jesus first. I bet if you do that we could get that life rating up into the 80's at least, and you'd certainly be in the high 90's maybe 100 with your wife.

Me personally, I'm pretty easy going. For life (other than job) 95, wife 99.

Hey, don't beat yourself up too much Mistri....we all need our outlets. :biggrin:
comes with being a perfectionist, if i step back and look at it objectively, it's more like a 90, but the constant pressure i put on myself to better myself, achieve more, etc. can be a dark cloud, can be a blessing and a curse at the same time

:wink: ........somebody's been paying attention, but you just stole the thunder from the person that was planning on mentioning this and MEANING it

When this thread accumulates a bit, I'm going to have to get an average of the two stats so we can have sides: The Bummed & The Happy

I just can't wait for douchebag Tibor to get on here and drop a pair of 10's on us...lol.

Life 90. It's great other than I'm adjusting to a new job/career. I'm back living close to my family for the first time in 8 years. I love that my parents can see my kids everyday if they want to.

Wife 97. There are always going to be a few things I wish she would change but she's great. We've been through a lot together and I probably give her more crap than she deserves sometimes. She's one of the most caring people I've ever met and I hope our kids turn out more like her than they do me. :)

Life - 90. It would have been lower before the NC in 2002. And honestly, I'm not kidding, that NC has made a huge difference for me.

Wife - 97. I'm giving the same rating as LoKy because my wife is also great, but I don't want to do any one-upping on the score. And my kids are pretty much grown, and fortunately they are much more like her than me. And I know that Chief's very happy with his sex life, and good for him, but I don't need to lower my wife's score for the reason he did. :biggrin:

Life - 70 (Living 3 hours from my fiancee, no sign of a job yet, fall football still far off, varsity/collegiate competition are now behind me)
Fiancee - 97 (understanding, unselfish, beautiful, not prissy but still a woman... a rare characteristic, loves me as the buckeye nut I am, cheers for OSU)

Life = 67

I calculate this by dividing my life into five sections: spirituality (19/20), relationships (15/20), health (10/20), career (7/20), and materialism (16/20).

Career is low because I hate my job and have not achieved a lot of personal goals I set five years ago. Relationships is as high as it is because of my wife and family; however, all of my friends live at least 2 hours away so I don't have much going on outside of family these days. Health is also low because although I rarely get sick, I am out-of-shape and suffer from acid reflex. Spirituality is good, but there is always room for improvement. Finally, materalism will go higher this summer once I buy a condo. I also wish I had more money to travel.

Wife = 97

I've only been married for 2 months, but it has been great so far. The only reason I don't give my wife a perect 100 is that she doesn't want to leave NE Ohio because her family is here and I am afraid this could hold me back in my career aspirations. Especially since I would like to go to Indiana for grad school and she wants me to stay here and go to Kent.
