Saints 62, Colts 7, 4th

Fuck the Colts, everyone in Indianapolis has been spoiled for way too long, and they have never made any contingency plans for when he wasn't there. As much as SF was made out to be a heel when they let Montana go, they did so for a reason (S Young). The Packers had Rodgers after they let Favre go. Great organizations plan for shit like this. Not the Colts.

This season is doing about as much to secure Petyon Manning's legacy as any Super Bowl ever could.

Remember what happened when Tom Brady missed an entire season? They put in some guy who hadn't started since high school and won 11 games.

It also says a lot about the organization, both of them. The Pats went from Beldsoe to Brady to Cassel, and still won and won and won some more. The Colts lose Manning and they are Ball State. If I was a Colts fan (and I am nothing of the sort), I would be royally pissed at a franchise that has sucked Manning's teat with no plan for what happens when it runs dry.

I'm laughing.

Well, as much as a Browns fan can. :(

Right, the Colts should have planned for freak neck problems to all of the sudden plague their QB who has never missed a game.

The thing the Colts did wrong was react slowly when it became clear Peyton wasn't coming back this year. Waiting until the last second to find a viable backup was stupid, they needed to sign Garrard/Palmer/Warner etc...as soon as the lockout lifted.

The Packers? They'd have been FUCKED if Favre had gone down in '04/'05. Rodgers sat for 3 seasons before he started, and was terrible his first season. The Packers had the luxury of following a plan, whereas Indy was relatively blindsided by Manning's injury. The Packers chose when to start developing Rodgers.

At the end of the day, it's a cop out for the franchise to hide behind the fact that Peyton is out. Would he have played defense? Would have have been blocking? Would he be playing kick coverage?

What is being discovered is that Peyton hid a LOT of issues. No solid corners, injury prone safetys/LB'ers, poor run blocking, bad coaching. Now, you don't have one of the best to ever play the game, and all those things are magnified.

There's a middle ground here. Peyton's not young, and they've had some laughably bad backups over the years.

Maybe, but look what happened to OSU dominating Nebraska when Bauserman replaced Braxton.
