Hodgepodge;2299037; said:The only way that makes sense is if Withers told Bell that they can't guarantee that they can send him a LOI to sign on Wednesday. There are a set amount they can send out they are certainly still waiting on some other guys. They don't want to lose someone they want just because they sent out an LOI to someone else who they aren't sure will pick them.

It does seem like Bell wants to start as a freshman and is very interested in the depth charts and other incoming recruits. The path to playing time at OSU is relatively open and the competition not overly stiff, but in comparison to Tennessee, it could be an issue. They basically have nothing in terms of Safety commits whereas we have Thompson, possibly Burrows and possibly Lee and Worley.
I don't think Bell should be overly scared of the competition here, but maybe he wants a starting job served up on a platter and if so, that could be the allure of the Vols.
My hope is that it is a goldilocks type situation. The competition is too stiff at Bama, too weak at UT and just right at OSU.
