Ron Tanner might have some butterflies when he steps onto the Ohio State football practice field for the first time Thursday, but he won't be burdened by second thoughts.
"I'm looking at it as a head start, as far as working out and getting ready to play college football," said Tanner, a safety who graduated from Eastmoor Academy early so he could be part of OSU's spring drills.

- Ron Tanner has worked his way up the depth chart to be a key special-teams player and reserve defensive back. The Eastmoor Academy graduate has done so while pursuing a rigorous academic schedule. He’s a two-time Scholar-Athlete at Ohio State’s Fisher College of Business.
Question: Tell me about your family. Is everyone in Columbus?

We’re a very close-knit family. I go to see my parents at least a couple times a week. They come to every game, home or away, no matter what the weather. cont...
The other option is Corey Brown. He's been on the field a lot.
Ron Tanner is listed as Bryant's backup in the 2 deep; and he has looked pretty good on special teams play so far this season. At least I remember seeing him getting his name called (on scoreboard) for several tackles.
Well, that sucks. Glad they'll still pay his scholarship...Coach Meyer just mentioned in his presser that there's a chance Ron's football career may be over due to injuries.
