I'm kinda excited about this game. Not much hype - just two solid programs squaring off in an intriguing intersection matchup. Should be a good one.

Boise State scores on an opening drive that featured a kickoff return to midfield, a long catch and run, and a touchdown pass on 3rd & long.

Boise State scores on the second drive. The touchdown came on a 1-yd. pass into the flat, but most of the yards leading up to it came on the ground this time.

Southern Miss is looking overmatched so far. Boise State is doing whatever they want on offense and is flying around on defense. I can't imagine this is an easy trip for a team like Southern Miss to make. Boise State hardly ever loses at home, and programs in the south seldom leave the region. I give them credit for being willing to make the trip, but I don't think they're gonna be happy when they head home.

Boise State throws it deep into their endzone on their third drive... Interception. Southern Miss gets a 20+ yard pass play following the interception, and then take a sack to end the 1st quarter. Could be a momentum change taking place though.

Boise State has been making some mistakes (turnover, penalties). Southern Miss hasn't really taken advantage until this last drive where they got a FG.

Southern Miss has managed a TD apparently. I missed it though because I can't watch while the DVR records The Office and Grey's Anatomy (the latter for the girlfriend of jlb, who is out of town this week.)
