Colerain at Princeton

WHEN/WHERE: 7:30 p.m. today at Princeton HS, 11080 Chester Road.
RECORDS: Colerain 4-1 (2-0 GMC), Princeton 1-4 (0-2).

WHAT TO WATCH: Colerain seems guaranteed to finish 9-1, with only one Enquirer Top 10 team (No. 10 Oak Hills) left on its schedule. Last week, Colerain led Hamilton 44-0 at halftime of a 51-12 win. Quarterback Gary Pride played only the first half and rushed for 176 yards with four TDs. Princeton has struggled (10 total points the past two games), and last week lost senior QB Darius Edwards to a broken foot. Sophomore B.J. Willis replaces Edwards.

BOTTOM LINE: Colerain should win big again.

By my count, Tyler had one sack, two tackles for loss, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery...and one high impact hit that caused his own helmet to crack. Good thing the equipment staff brings extras to the game.

Wow-I handle the equipment for our school-and we have never considered bringing an entire spare helmet! Did the shell crack, or did the screws and rivets just fly apart?

The shell of the helmet cracked across the top/front of the helmet. Colerain's equipment staff always brings four or five spare helmets in case one breaks so the player only misses a play or two and not a whole series.

Sycamore at Colerain

WHEN/WHERE: 7:30 p.m. today, Colerain H.S., 8801 Cheviot Road.
RECORDS: Sycamore 2-4 (1-2 Greater Miami Conference), Colerain 5-1 (3-0).

WHAT TO WATCH: Sycamore QB Mitch Allen has put up big numbers (794 yards passing, 545 rushing) but Colerain's defense allows precious little.

Colerain has recovered from its 7-0 opening loss to St. Xavier, having crushed five straight opponents by an average score of 44- 12. Last week, Cardinals QB Gary Pride ran for 144 yards and a TD and threw for 50 yards and two TDs in a 57-20 win over Princeton.

BOTTOM LINE: Colerain has gotten better each week and is thundering toward a 9-1 regular-season finish.

I just watched that video of him against Tyler Lee and man all I can say is that he is a player. I think I would be adding one more of those wows faces if I was doing the judging.

and they left his best play of the night off of that video...the one where he chases the QB across the field and brings him down from behind as his helmet gets knocked off...that play defines Tyler Moeller the football player.
