S Aaron Gant (official thread)

Under the radar? You can definitely say that! Him along with hundreds of other recruits for that matter. Scout and Rivals rank who they want to rank and the heck with the rest of them. For example, Rivals has both Bowman and Gant as runningbacks? Take into consideration they both attend the same high school too and both will not be backs where ever they play in college. Bottom line, both services can not watch every recruits film, therefore ratings mean very little.

Both these recruits are Big 10 guys and getting these two from Michigan and Iowa is a win all in itself. They have the measurables obviously, but the good thing about low rated guys is this...Once this recruiting class hits the field at Ohio State they are all given the same star, which is a 1 star. High School accomplishments mean nothing and you are given a fair shot just like the big 5 star kid is going to get!!

Well it is very nice to get some top players out of tsun. If we continue to do that who the heck is scUM going to recruit. They are only getting about 1-3 out of Ohio and maybe 4 from Michigan. That is only about 6 guys. They better start working extra hard on their OOS recruiting or things could turn ugly up there.

As for Gant, here is to hoping that he indeed does committ and bring his two teammates along with him. One being Bowman this year and then Allen next year.

I love this new trend of kides being essentially down to scUM and tOSU and chosing the buckeyes, we used to lose those face offs most of the time (particularly with OOS recruits) now we seem to be winning them the vast majority of the time, even with Michigan kids, like Aaron sometimes.

Tressel's impact on recruiting has really taken hold

Guys, when Gant or any other prospect commits you will hear about it. The moderators and people with information on this site have no reason to withold information and have always gladly shared it as soon as they find out. So, there's no need to continually ask if he has committed. When the title of the thread changes from "official offer" to "is a Buckeye" you'll know it has happened.

The thing that excites me most about Gant, and truely makes me believe that he is a diamond in the rough is that our class is rapidly filling up, few spaces left, several blue chip possibilities, and the staff is still working hard to get a supposedly "1 star" S/LB.

Not to mention, that it is always a great sign when the 2 powerhouse schools in the recruits state (scUM, MSU) have both offered.

Just spreading some more Positive Speculation from my last post in the Bowman thread. I have a feeling when Tressel and company visit the Bowman household later this week, that he and Anthony Bowman will commit together.
