Whats funny is Mallett would have probably transfered if Debord had stayed on. Mallett didnt like the old regime that much! During his recruitment Debord said they were going to open up the offense for him and it never happened.
Ah, the impatience of youth.

Did it cross Mallett's mind that if DeBord were still there the playbook for next year might have been very different from this - what with Henne graduating?

But, this raises an interesting counterpoint - one thing Mallett cannot deny is the playbook next year will be very different from last, whichever QB is trying to catch those snaps.

Quirky Stat - add Mallett's TD and INT total together - they equal his total number of sacks, 7 - 5 - 12.

UM's Mallett planning to transfer

By ZACH SILKA
BLADE SPORTS WRITER

Rich Rodriguez's tenure as the head football coach at the University of Michigan is only in its second day, but he may have already lost one of the Wolverines.

There is speculation out of Ann Arbor that freshman quarterback Ryan Mallett has decided to leave Michigan and will transfer to UCLA, according to a person close to the team.

Mallett told The Blade on Dec. 26 during the team's preparations for the Capital One Bowl in Orlando that he wanted to remain a Wolverine next season.

If Big Tex actually goes through with the transfer, could be a long season for scUM next year. I know they are getting a transfer from GT named Threet, anybody know if he'll be eligible/any good?

RRod's very dangerous game just took off. He sat on his hands a bit the last few weeks, did he truly want Mallett? Or is he clearing the runway for Pryor?

Ryan has never quite settled in up north. Even if they get Pryor, next year will be a pretty bumpy ride... and who backs him up?

Also, this probably also gives Arrington another nudge out the door.

I believe Threet's year off was this year. He was a pretty good QB coming out of HS (but not that mobile)... but will be like an incoming frosh with the brand new system.

When Ryan Mallett receives a phone call, he need only look out the window to make Rick Neuheisel appear on the front lawn.

(That will be the defense at the UCLA hearings in two years, anyway. It won't work because Ryan Mallett can see Rick Neuheisel even in the dark.)

Ryan Mallett, after just one year at Michigan where he personally witnessed a "rebuilding" Ohio State D-Line maul one of the best, most highly touted O-Lines in Michigan's storied history, while also shutting down (and nearly shutting out) a powerful, senior-laden offense, said, "Fuck this, I'm going to UCLA."
