Ryan Mallett is so awesome, that when he was still a freshman, they built a statue of him and placed it at midfield.

Oh, that was actually him just standing in the pocket. My bad.

Is he playing instead of Henne this week? I haven't heard much, yet. OF course, I haven't looked at all.

I saw a bit of Michigan - Wisconsin. He didn't look too good. Which was weird because I had seen some of his other games, and I was pretty impressed with him, for a freshman. Is he a decent quarterback, for a freshman, or am I having a "senior moment?"

One would think that based on his size, he would have hands that wrap around a football. However, it appears that Mallett's krytonite is the ball after holding it for about 3 seconds. Ryan "I can't hold onto a football with hands like a" Mallett may be the call sign for years to come.

He's a tank. Big, lethargic, throws rockets, but has a problem with his precision.

Well, best I can say is......he's a freshman. You're right, I think he looked damn good at times this season, and yes, for a freshman, he's a decent quarterback. But he's a freshman. Every time he's made a nice play, he's been drawing on his considerable talent. Every time he's done something boneheaded (which is in every game he's appeared in), it's because either he panicked or because his knowledge of the system just isn't there. All of which are the hallmarks of a true freshman.

And they made a point during the Wisconsin game, which I didn't know before, that Mallett operated exclusively out of the shotgun in high school, which means that before coming to Michigan he'd never really taken a snap from under center. Explains his problems in that regard. I would expect he'll be working on that quite a lot this spring.

He is a large man indeed. The one guy trying to sack him vs. Wisconsin took like 20 minutes to sack him

Problem with the precision? Um, hello. His 43% completion percentage says hi!

Saw him on the sidelines last week and he towers over Henne. He is a big dude. He ought to be a nice big target to hit for years to come.
