I'm not going to run around like Chicken Little, but the number of injuries coming into this game and during it, do not portend well for a game next week against skunks who will actively try to injure top players with vulnerabilities. This is not the same team without that WR threat.

I expect Smith to play, at this point I'd be shocked to see Tate. But having Smith in there alone opens things up a lot more.

Have seen too many plays this year where the lead TE doesn’t block the right guy. Or the RB (CJ mainly) just runs straight with no recognition on short yardage.

Not encouraging but kinda where we’re at, at this point. Just hope CJ is big enough to bulldoze someone and get in when we need.

Yep Smith on crutches is an instant double team. Totally changes everything

Rutgers averages 420 yards per game and has 78 halfway through the 3rd quarter. This defense is pretty good despite the occasional 3rd and long conversion they allow.

What's going on with Tate is super weird. Was suited up at Purdue to this. Even the JSN injury wasn't this weird since he tried to go twice and was clearly hobbled.

Keinholz may become a bigger factor. Takes one of those defenders to account for him, etc etc. But the block recognition really hasn't been all that good this year. I think a LOT of it is due to youth or in Donaldson's case, he's not in sync with the linemen yet.
