Good morning Buckeye Nation. Hail my common fellows and whores!!! It is hereby ordered that the Buckeyes of Ohio State over take SHI stadium stronghold currently occupied by the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers.
Take only what weapons and necessities required. Now go forth and fear not. For the Buckeyes are armed with Silver Bullets while the enemy engages with foam LARPING swords.
Will be like shooting tin cans in grandpa's back yard. Fight! Win! Collect the spoils!
One caveat. double bag the ole fella or wear a dental damn ladies if you dare engage in Jersey miscreants. If you get my meaning. No bumps or pox to be returned to Columbus.
Its Game Day!!! TIME.2.GET.PPPPPUUUUMMMMPPPPEEEDDDD!!!!

O-H!!!

I-O!!!

we are at home today.

SAME OLD, SAME OLD. It’s still the best way to describe Ohio State-Rutgers — the “’Tis But a Scratch” scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

When Ohio State and Rutgers meet at noon on Saturday, the battle between the Buckeyes and Scarlet Knights will look a lot like King Arthur vs. the Black Knight.

Ohio State respects Rutgers. Ryan Day called the Scarlet Knights “well-coached” under Greg Schiano, and Lorenzo Styles Jr. called them “a real team” with the Buckeyes’ attention in all three phases.

Still, when push comes to shove, Ohio State usually does what it does against Rutgers: Dismantle.

With or without Carnell Tate and Jeremiah Smith, Heisman candidate Julian Sayin will attack a Rutgers defense that ranks No. 122 nationally in total defense (425.5 yards per game). That includes 196.5 rushing yards allowed per game (No. 125), meaning Bo Jackson, Isaiah West, James Peoples and CJ Donaldson should feast.

There go Rutgers’ arms.

The Scarlet Knights have a quarterback in Athan Kaliakmanis who’s thrown for more yards than Sayin. They also have a 1,000-yard rusher in Antwan Raymond and a 900-yard receiver in KJ Duff. But none of it should matter against an Ohio State defense that ranks No. 1 nationally in total defense (212.6 yards per game) and scoring defense (7.5 points per game).

There go Rutgers’ legs.

And with that… I guess we’ll call it a draw?

Ohio State 49 - Rutgers 10

I'm actually getting a little nervous now. 3 receivers out? Ground game better have no issues this week, and no dumb mistakes from the youngsters.

Personally I can't bring myself to be nervous about this one. Probably has to do with perhaps the most pedestrian string of nine wins that I can remember as a Buckeye. Take care of business and let the real portion of the season begin.

Looks like I’ll be in the BMW thread today too lol.

Seriously today is about winning and getting the game over. Won’t hear any complaints from me this week. I don’t care how it looks just win and get healthy.

That said, part of me wonders if this is the absolute lack or WR rotation coming back to hurt us right now. It’s been how many years of excellent WR play but only 3 play max.

Maybe if Graham subbed in for Tate occasionally or if Innis subbed in for Smith occasionally we wouldn’t have our best two WRs limiting their reps to close out the year because they’re hurt.

We play 4 RBs and wouldn’t you know they’re pretty healthy all things considered. I love Hartline but I wish he subbed more because IMO this likely could’ve been avoided.

Did we need Smith after the first drive against Grambling? Did we need Tate after half time vs Minnesota? I get they should play because they practice hard but sometimes you protect players from themselves when they’re so important for the teams success.
