Rutgers 30, South Florida 27 (final)

They're ragging on Ohio State's schedule compared to USF so far in the season, and by extension saying that the win over Washington is not very good and that Washington is not a good team. All that may be true, but they're completely overlooking the fact that USF pretty much IS Washington. They get nothing from their RBs and the WRs are inconsistent. The entire offense is a QB that can scramble. Good teams shut down teams like that, or at least contain them.

Also, I see that the Big East has replaced their Heisman candidates commercial with an equally desperate, lovesick and laughable commercial about the teams in the conference.

Bingo. I'm far from impressed thus far.

You're forgetting the Florida speed, that's the key

I couldn't agree more. They beat Auburn the 2nd game of the year and Auburn also gets beat by Mississippi State the following week...so how big of win was that? They beat West Virginia who has played absolutely NO ONE and doesn't play a "decent" team until they go to Cincinnati on November 17th. Granted, tOSU opponents haven't been the tougest, but I'd like to see some other teams travel to Washington and come out with a win. That place was absolutely ROCKING and was quite a hostile environment for a young team, like the Bucks, to handle. Same goes with the win @ Purdue. Yet another difficult place to play, especially with the offense they have. tOSU held the Boilermakers to 272 total yards, when everyone was claiming how good of an offense they had. Both the Washington and Purdue games were labeled as upset alerts for the Buckeyes and both times, we came out on top. I'm tired of hearing these critics who continue to say that tOSU has played "no one".

And they beat all that SEC speed that Auburn has. I read an article somewhere talking about Auburn having the best defense in the SEC and we all know how great the SEC is

Only up by four at haltime at an unranked team's house. I wonder how many more 1st-place votes that'll get them if they should win this game.
Lots, that's not under achieving, that's "overcoming adversity"

Yeah that same Auburn team who lost to a 4-3 Mississippi State team @ home. Give me a break.

I'm glad the conversation has taken this turn.

Remember the last USF game that made it to a week night? Friday 9/28 against W.Va. they won 21-13.

For the entire first half both teams looked seriously inept on offense. West Virginia because it was the first decent defense they had faced, and USF DOES have speed in that defense. South Florida because they simply couldn't string together plays.

Their big plays that game?

The INT in the first quarter. A deep pass play on 3rd and 8 for 55 yards to make the score 0-14.

Then their defense took over.

I say they have shown me they know how to play with a lead, they have not shown they can come back against a good defense. Whom have they really faced on that score yet?

The thing is, up until this past week, I really had nothing against USF. I'm just tired of hearing people trying to make themselves seem insightful by saying that USF is better than Ohio State. I'm rooting against them tonight because of that, even though I realize that it's the nature of being Ohio State and being number one that they're just going to move on to another team that they're going to try to build up in the same way.

Was that the vaunted USF defense that just gave up that TD? That was bad. Apparently the self-proclaimed "fastest defense in the country" can't wrap up and is prone to having four guys get outrun even with a head start.
