12-1 final. OSU's tracker had it all fucked up with OSU's stats where Illinois State's should have been and vice-versa. I thought the Bucks were kicking their ass until I looked carefully at the stats.

    Horrendous effort all around.

    Bring on Yale!

    Buckeye defeat Yale

    From the Official site

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - Ohio State pounded out 14 hits en route to a 12-6 comeback win over Yale Saturday morning at Chain of Lakes Park. With the win, the Buckeyes improve to 6-4 while Yale drops to 3-5.
Yale jumped out to the early lead, plating a run in the top of the first. After a groundout to lead off the inning, Gant Elmore walked and advanced to second when Tyler Engle was unable to come up with a ground ball off the bat of Andy Megee. Buckeye starter Dean Wolosiansky followed by striking out cleanup hitter Trey Rallis but Charlie Neil looped a two-out single into left to score the first run of the game.
After going down in order in the first, the Buckeyes answered back to tie the game in the second. Matt Streng singled up the middle with one out and, after a strikeout of Brad Hallberg, Brad Hutton came to the plate and laced a two-out double down the right field line to score Streng and even the game at one.

    Army spanks OSU

    From the Official Site

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - Ohio State scored nine runs on 20 hits but six Buckeye errors proved to be the difference in a 14-9 loss to Army Sunday afternoon at Lake Myrtle Park. Army jumped out to the early lead, using a walk, two errors and three soft singles to plate four runs in the top of the first.
The Buckeyes then cut the lead in half, using four singles and a sacrifice fly to plate a pair in the bottom of the frame. Tyler Engle and Ryan Cypret each singled to lead off the game and Josh Dezse singled to left to score Engle. After a strikeout of Brian DeLucia, Matt Streng hit a fly ball to center to score Cypret and make it 4-2 Black Knights after one.
Army added to its lead with three more in the top of the second, this time using three more singles and two Ohio State errors. After Matthew Carter walked to lead off the inning and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt, Carter scored when Ben Koenigsfeld chopped an infield single up the middle and Engle's throw to first sailed wide to plate the Black Knights' fifth run. Joey Henshaw then singled to right and advance to third while Koenigsfeld scored on a two-base error by DeLucia. Kevin McKague then singled in Henshaw for his third run batted in of the game, making it 7-2 Army.

5 of the 6 errors came from the middle of the defense. Delucia is really struggling in CF. Wetzel's struggles(.180 AVG) at the plate forced Beals hand....unless there is an injury i'm not aware of.

Despite the tough weekend, i cant wait til this coming weekend!

    3 vs Cal (rpi 35)
2 vs Fresno St (rpi 9)
3 vs CS Bakersfield (rpi 44)

Our RPI is around 165..it will be interesting to see what kind of a bounce we get after we run this gauntlet...

I've been waiting years for something like this..can't wait!

I'd rather go 1-7 vs this type of competition as opposed to going 7-1 vs the usual spring break fodder.

Good to hear that it may not be serious. I wonder if that wrist injury had anything to do with his slow start...maybe Wetzel had been trying to play through it?

Hopefully Wetzel will be good to go this weekend, but i wouldnt look for Jared Strayer this weekend. His injury is really gonna be felt on this upcoming road trip.

Well, Strayer in California, cast off, throwing. Awful quick, hopefully not rushing things. Big Ten more important than California.

Agree. Again, I hope they do well, but will not be disappointed with only 1 or 2 wins. The Big Ten race is way more important.
