A dyin' breed.
I really don't see anyone who will be able to hang with our defense. Tomorrow will be a big test, because we all know Iowa, regardless of their loss to ISU is a legit contender for a Big10 title. The matchup in two weeks in Happy Valley has lost a little sparkle because PSU, who has only dominated less-than-average squads looks to be a little less dynamic on offense than a bunch of people had thought.

With a win tomorrow the Bucks set themselves up for a huge run at a Big10 title and maybe a Nat'l Championship. We'll get to that later.

Tressel has a recurring habit of hiding alot of the offense from teams he plays a week before a big game. Tomorrow is a HUGE revenge game. Look for the seniors to play extremely well, Mangold, Hawk, Salley, Carpenter, Schlegel, Sims, etc and more. Last year we were absolutely embarrassed at Iowa. This is a huge redepmption game, and I think we might see Tressel let his players play a little longer into the game. Don't be surprised if you see a situation where he would normally call off the dogs and keeps his starters in the game. Not only is this Big10 play, but this is a chance to send a message to the rest of the conference that when you play Ohio State, be ready for a physical game.

I think Tate will spend most of the day on his back. Our secondary has seen one of the best wide receiver corps in the nation, and they will hold coverage long enough for Kudla, Hawk and company to punish the quarterback. The running game for Iowa will be NON-EXISTANT. I'm calling it now, write it down. No way they have over 100 yards on the ground combined.

I think tomorrow might be Santonio's coming out party. The Big10 was brutalized by Ginn last year, and they are going to pay WAY too much attention to him.

It's okay guys, we have 1 loss. We had one in 03, but were beat by a *gulp* superior scUM squad. We'll be in the thick of the race this year. Our strength of schedule (barring a meltdown by Big10 teams) will overcome any other conference, save the SEC.

We're fine. Tomorrow we begin the road to another Big10 title. That is the main goal for this team right now. We've lost to a great Texas team, and beat up on two middle tier squads. We're ranked top10. It's time to prove we deserve to be in the national title talk.

9am my time, my alarm is set.

OH

Let's hope that they do "run the table".

Tressel will not leave the first string in longer just because this is Iowa. There is NO WAY you do that to a team you play every year. Tressel knows that better than anybody. Maybe Coop would have done it...cuz he was an idiot. The key is to win this game, play hard, tough, and clean...and show Iowa that we are the best team in the Big 10, without rubbing their nose in it.

Tressel will keep the starters in the whole game because he will have too. I do not anticipate a blowout..........

I basically agree with that. I think it will be a beatdown of Iowa by the defense, but our inability to put the ball in the end zone when we're in the red zone pretty much erases the possibility of a true blowout. 20-6 seems about right.

Easy call!

We got every bounce today. Championships are not won with the ball on the ground like today. We were very lucky to recover the ones we did and extremely lucky the TOs in the red zone did not come back to haunt us.

I've bitched about the Offense enough lately I didn't want to be the first to bring this up....but I agree 100%.

You fumble 4 times, get a punt called back for a clip and fubar a clock drive on the road or vs a better team and it could very well cost us dearly.

Thats the good thing about today, ended up a "pretty" win and still plenty to work on during the next 2 weks of practice. Clean up the fumbles and penalties while just continuing to execute the basics on offense will win the rest of our games with the defense we have.

that's what me and my father were talking about after the game... it's a great win, in terms of the offense coming together, and gelling, and so forth, but there was still enough negatives to keep them busy and hungry... the first time they put it all together, LOOK OUT!!!

the defense had NO negatives, however... if there is a better defense in the country, outside of the NFL, i have not seen it.
