One of the neatest things that I captured on Saturday was a video of some of the Warrior’s Haka dance they do in their pre-games. The amazing thing about it and I am not sure if they took offense to it was that the Buckeyes and student section began their quick cals chant right after. It was a battle taking place in front of us that was kinda neat! I promised a Vonn Bell sized Good, Bad and Ugly this week and I aim to deliver! Let’s get going with his very, very good.
Rumblin’

An amazing play by Conley(8) turned into a pick for Vonn “for whom the ” Bell “Tolls”
We had a sneaking suspicion when he signed his NLOI that Vonn Bell was going to be something special. It might have taken him a little longer to mature than fans wanted but now that he’s here — I think they are very pleased.
The stat line he put together during last Saturday’s game was something from the video game world and to be fair (I will cover in Stumblin’) he should have had higher stats! Three tackles, three pass break-ups, one interception, one fumble recovery, and the cherry on top, one touchdown! For most safeties those numbers are enough for a three or four game stretch.
Vonn Bell may have set a new standard for himself in games to come. His performance last Saturday sent a message that the ball hawker is here to stay and you better not go his way.
The play of the day is the one that leads me to his Stumblin’.
Let’s see what the staff has to say about the Rumblin’!
Scott – Ezekiel Elliott. On a day when OSU’s offense wasn’t, he was.
MDoty Sr – Darron Lee continues to dominate on defense and Ezekiel Elliott on offense! (Honorable Mention: Hometown Toledo Rockets)
Charles – TBDBITL and the OSU Alumni band, took some huge emotional hits in the morning and still put on a hell of a show when the time came
Ken – Ohio State’s defense. They shifted gears in a short week and completely shut down Hawaii’s offense. They were very impressive.
Stumblin’
In all that Vonn Bell did that was great last Saturday, he did a few things that led me to believe he has a little bit more work to do to actually become part of #Zone6. He had more opportunities to really pad his stats because there were moments that it felt like Hawaii was actually testing him.
The one play in particular that I am talking about was where he went high for the ball and it hit him right in the chest! Two things were happening here and he probably underestimated the QB’s arm strength. Second, he made one of the most athletic plays that I have seen in a long time and it makes me wonder . . , does he have trouble catching the ball?
Later in the game the opportunity arose again and he didn’t see the ball coming this time. Not necessarily his fault because he was watching his receiver(actually had help over top on two WR’s this time) and took his eyes off of the ball. Do not take this as knocking Vonn Bell, I am not even close to that.
I am just pointing out that Vonn Bell has only begun to scratch the surface on what is sure to bean epic career at Ohio State. He has some things to work on obviously!
Let’s see what the staff has to say about the Stumblin’.
Scott – Rutgers. What in the what is going on there?
MDoty Sr – Tennessee laying down in the second half of a game they should have won.
Charles – Notre Dame, seriously, almost losing to Virginia?
Ken – Ohio State’s offense. Don’t let the 31 offensive points deceive you. This group, except for a handful of big plays, is out of sync. Choose an offensive philosophy, and stick with it. Quit waffling. The coaching staff requires high performance from the players regardless of the situation; the players require nothing less from the coaches.
Bumblin’

Defense was king for the day
It was bound to happen. Resistance is futile (to quote Captain Picard) when trying to not write about the fans and their ultimate lack of understanding the college players life. More to the point, the fact that they played two games within five days and the fans have little to no patience with them is ridiculous.
First, these are mostly 18-21 year olds who are in the shape of their lives. Try to remember back to a time when you were in great shape and participated in a prize fight against a pretty good heavy weight that beat you for ten rounds. Now, I am not suggesting that those kids fought two heavy weights with in five days, but could you do it?
Let’s say, for argument’s sake, that you get into a wrestling match with your young son on Monday and it takes it’s toll on you. You then turn right around on Saturday and decide to try and get the upper hand on said son while he was sleeping, but he was ready for the not-so-surprising attack? Think for a moment that you perform as well against him as you did on Monday? No frickin way!
These are young men playing the game that we love to think we know what’s best for when in actuality most coaches won’t even agree to playing those games that close. That staff saw a unique opportunity to get their team ready for a championship run, never-mind that they may have stolen the title the previous year, and playing in two tough contests within a five day period did the trick.
They won both games and have their schedules back on track to keep those fans happy(yeah right) throughout the season. 38-0 is a far cry from their . . , oh never-mind!
Let’s see what the staff had to say about the Bumblin’.
Scott – Bert Bielema. No explanation needed.
MDoty Sr – Bielema and Spurrier, self explanatory.
Charles – Easy one, Bielema, karma
Ken – Ohio State kicking game. Willoughby needs to get his act together, or it will be Willow-bye.
Weekly Funny

Enough said? I don’t think so, he will be back to needing a binky.
