Michigan receiver Roy Roundtree (Trotwood-Madison), coming off the signature game of his college football career, is at Purdue today (noon, Big Ten Network) as the Wolverines play the school he left standing at the altar.
Hollywood could not have written a better script.
Roundtree, a third-year sophomore, caught nine passes for a school-record 246 yards in Saturday?s 67-65, triple-overtime win over Illinois, introducing himself to the nation even as Michigan struggles under beleaguered coach Rich Rodriguez.
And now he?s in Purdue?s face, reminding the Boilermakers what they could have had.
For the record, Roundtree, who leads the Wolverines with 45 catches for 656 yards and four touchdowns, has no regrets about donning that Michigan cap on signing day at the last minute despite wearing a Purdue tie to the press conference.
