Game over.

Can't try a spike with 2 seconds and no time outs.

Note to Herbie: the clock starts when the official winds his arm, not the snap.

I completely agree with your comment and the fact that time expired, but was the official winding his arm prior to the other official even setting the ball down?

Tough break. Two full seconds should be enough for a spike. The problem is, when the clock shows :02, that means that in reality anywhere from 1.01 and 2 full seconds actually remain. In this case it looks like it was closer to 1.01 (or however far you want to drill down the decimal places.)

Badgers outscored 10-0 in the 4th quarter. Pretty remarkable given their overwhelming advantage in time of possession.

The only thing that would be fitting at this point is if during the off season, they deem that players that Willie Lyles recruited to Oregon were deemed as ineligible and they have to forefit their games...

This Nebraska guy is alright. :wink2:

Agreed. But that's why it was dumb for UW to try the spike when you don't know where you are between 1.01 and 2. Unspeakable mistake on UW's part.

Nope. The umpire set the ball and backed out before the ref wound the clock. Konz was a little slow to snap the ball, but if he did it before the team was set, they'd have called a penalty and taken 10 seconds off the clock, ending the game.

Not really. The clock starts before the snap because it starts when the official winds his arm. Even if it is a full 2 seconds you have less than that to snap it and spike it. Not enough time.
