Roll Call- Indianapolis Big Ten Championship

Late on this but getting it out of the game thread to talk about any plans/events/people that will be in town this weekend. Consider this the control center.

From what I've seen (updated):

@Jaxbuck
@Telekinesis
@sparcboxbuck
@LostLassie
@KOBuckeye

Stealing my post from the game thread:
I'll be down for Champps. Good spot and has historically been the place for Buckeye fans during Big Ten football/basketball. Other restaurants to look out for:

-Yard House
-Scotty's Brewhouse
-Punch Bowl Social (fun restaurant/bar-cade/games/bowling alley)
-Claddaugh is a fun time, though a little light on the TV's compared to some sports bars

@Telekinesis named some of the million steakhouses here (welcome, midwesterners)- St. Elmo's/Harry & Izzy's, Prime 47, Morton's, etc etc.

I recommend checking out Georgia Steet Friday and/or Saturday. Walk around and enjoy the scene and mass of people.

If anyone wants bars/night life, I can definitely recommend/show around later :lol:. I'm ready for the Buckeye takeover here and I expect to see at least a handful of you crazy people this weekend.

Seriously, ask away if you need specific recommendations. I'll do my best to answer and can give out contact info to help around throughout.

How is Giorgio’s? Pearl Street? Wife and I were thinking about grabbing a slice somewhere at some point. Maybe Saturday night. Prefer NY style. Looks like the first option closes early.

Any other recommendations for a spot to hit after the game?

Champps sounds good.

I love Pearl Street. They are a little thicker on the crust than a NY slice, but very good. Cheese breadsticks + cheese dip is heavenly. Haven't had Giorgio's but know it's a popular spot for a quick slice during the work week. Right on Monument Circle, with the Soldiers and Sailor Monument/Circle of Lights. Definitely walk around there.

There's a Pie Five in the area that does the quick thin personal, brick oven pizza thing (same as Blaze Pizza).

Late night spots after the game for drinks:
-Kilroy's (everyone will be here, probably the most popular bar, expect a line/packed place but it's fun, breadsticks are a must)
-O'Reiley's Irish Pub (shouldn't be too packed, good food/beer, I'm a regular here. Chicago-themed. Don't mind the Michigan banner, it's their alumni spot, but the owner doesn't care about them, good guy and let's me troll them in my Ohio State gear any time)
-Tin Roof (live music, more on country side, cheap drinks, will be packed)
-Howl at the Moon (piano bar, live cover music)
-The Pub (right across the street from Banker's Life, self-explanatory)
-Champps (sports restaurant/bar, shouldn't be too wild late at night, but who knows)

Trying to keep a variety of options as I'm not sure what people will be looking for. I can go into some other dive bars if you want peace and quiet, but even that may be hard to come by this weekend. It's going to be very busy. Luckily this is all walkable 10-20 minutes from stadium.

There's another area slightly further away from the stadium (1.5 miles) called Mass Ave. that has a lot more chill/dive bars and great restaurants.

Appreciate all the info! We will be on foot most likely, otherwise we’d probably hit one of those dives. Close proximity will be on the radar, although I’m sure it’ll be packed wherever we end up.

Haven’t lived in Indy for a couple of years, but was there for the 59 blowout of Wiscy! Had a great time on Georgia street prior to the game that year. Always recommend Scotty’s, love their double IPA, wings and loaded fries. Daredevil and SunKing breweries are must visits if you have time. BruBurger on Mass Ave. is kick ass. The Rathskellar German beer garden is great. Rock Bottom used to have some good beers. My daughter and I always enjoyed grabbing a slice at Georgio’s when we were downtown. If you want to venture over to Broadripple, hit Hopcat for a great beer selection and some crack fries.

Show them a great time @OHSportsFan wish I was there!

Go Bucks!
