Rob Gronkowski (party buses and porn stars)

What does a TE have to do with a DE and an OL committing elsewhere?? :roll2:

Gronk can play either of those positions. He has a great frame and could develop into a tackle and he played DE in high school and did rather well there. I think his future is at TE but he can certainly play either of those positions.

If he comes to tOSU, he is a TE

I have watched much film of Gronkowski and have posted this several times and I will post it again...I don't see any way that Rob ends up at tackle. He is an athletic, playmaking TE who does not appear to have the frame to be a D1 OT. Last year everyone talked about Miller and Ballard ending up at OT and they both stayed at TE. Gronk looks like even less of a possibility to move down than they did. The ONLY position I could see him at other than TE is DE, but I don't even see that happening. I think 21 is dead on...

He seem a little more impressed with OSU than the other schools. However, the other schools are recruiting him to be their franchise type player so his choice is between being part of great team or being the man.

The most recent update was very favorable for OSU fans, IMO...if you look at the criteria he is using to make his decision and then look at the schools he is considering, I would say Clemson and OSU are the two schools that definitely stand out.

Rob Gronkowski Ready to Announce

By Steve Patterson
BrutusReport.com

One of the best tight ends in the country is set to make his college choice this Wednesday and the Buckeyes are among his leaders. 6-7, 250lbs tight end Rob Gronkowski out of Pittsburg Woodland Hills has his list down to 4 schools and will cap a great season with the selection of great college on ESPNU on January 10th. We contacted Rob recently and asked him about his skills at TE. ?My blocking is a great attribute and catching the ball too."

Not only a great tight end but also a physical defensive end, Gronkowski told us about a game this past year where he showed his skills. "One game I had 2 Touchdown's while performing real well at Defensive End, getting many sacks." Gronkowski was a member of the East team in the recent all star East Meets West Bowl. Picked as one of the Hot 11 by Rivals.com after the game, he flashed his ability on a 39 yard reception and blocked well throughout the game.

Gronkowski?s brother Chris plays for Maryland and Gronkowski made the trip to their camp this past summer to work out and participate in the drills. "Yes, the Maryland football camp helped me out with my blocking abilities a lot." But Maryland didn?t make his final list while the Buckeyes did. What did he like about his visit to Columbus back on December 13th? "The facilities and the coaching staff are just amazing." He reported to us.

To hear Gronkowski talk about the Buckeyes one might think that he has already made up his mind. We asked about the qualities of the school that he will be selecting. "Good football program or up and coming program, great coaches, nice facilities and nice atmosphere." Yet he leaves his options open by mentioning the possibility of selecting an up and coming program in addition to an already established football power.

The offer list from Gronkowski grew as the recruiting process developed. "Many schools have offered me like Arizona, Clemson, Ohio State, Syracuse, Penn state, Michigan, Florida and more.? He was able to narrow down the list to four schools and will make his selection from one of the four. ?SU, Clemson, AZ, and Ohio State are all recruiting me hard and are my top 4." His choice will be based on his feeling about the school. ?My final decision will be January 10th on ESPNU. [My decision will be based on] feeling good about the school and feeling comfortable."

Gronkowski watched the National Championship game last night but wasn?t routing for one particular program. "[I watched it] on my TV with my brother." He told us. "Both teams I wanted to win so good and bad if one won and the other didn?t."

Gronkowski Set For Announcement

By Phil Kornblut
TE Rob Gronkowski (6-6 250) of Pittsburgh will announce his college decision Wednesday at 6:30 PM according to his coach George Novak. Gronkowski plans to make the announcement at a local television station with the announcement to be aired over ESPNU. Novak says it appear the decision is down to two schools...Clemson and Arizona. "He's going somewhere south of here," Novak said. "He feels strongly about Clemson, and he feels strongly about Arizona. It's 50-50 in my mind, that's my guess." Gronkowski also plays basketball and has a game tonight. His father will be in tonight to meet with him and the coach to make the final plans. Gronkowski didn't catch many passes this season because his coach said they didn't have much of a passing game. But he was still named one of the top 22 players in the area and was selected for the Big 33 All Star Game this summer.
