Hey, can you all believe it? One of the "Supreme Beings of BP" is attacking with profanity again on this site. The same language that gets the rest of us reprimanded and suspended.

So, not only does he/she put words in other people's mouths, but he/she also makes attacks with vulgar language.

Ladies and gentleman, we have a real winner on our hands...

First of all, when did I refer to myself, or even imply that I was, a "Supreme Being" here? You're just like so many of the other knuckleheads here (and a long time ago on Bucknuts) who resort to referring to how many posts I have or how long I've been on a site in your respond rather than address this issue at hand. By the way, since when is "Dumbass" an obscenity? And no one has put any words in your mouth (although there may be some other objects in there). :roll1:

The bottom line is you made an excuse for Reynolds' behavior and then made a back-handed slam at Oneshot because he disagreed. If you want to disagree with someone, fine. But if you slam someone, be prepared for a like response.

All Choked Up...

I did not make an excuse for Reynolds' behavior. I simply indicated that it is an inevitable part of the game and at some point it will happen. Whether it be a Buckeye or a Wolverine, this behavior will be exposed at some point. And this behavior IS often displayed by the most passionate players. What Reynolds did was wrong and illegal, but it happens a lot and often goes unnoticed.

Again, you either get it or you don't, based upon your experience. It is not something that can be explained as scUM indicated.

And if you disagree with an Almighty BP Moderator, prepare to have your Green Tic Tacs turn blood Red... :-(

Uh, it's not because you're disagreeing "with an Almighty BP Moderator", but rather because you refuse to listen. By the way, at least two others besides me have dinged you and have signed their dings (as did I). No wah-wahs...

Dumbass plz spare you commetns for another board. There is a reason why you have red chiklets.

No one here wants something like that to happen and the fact that you are saying it unfortanate but it happens, means you are backing what RR did. It was unethical to do what he did. It is the same thing as someone choking you. Would you like.

Let me compare it to something else. Mike Tyson in the heat of the battle bit Holyfield's ear off. Is that ok too. It happens.

Obviously Mili is not almighty or a supreme being. It took him till his third post on this thread to morph Zach Dumas into CrackDumbass. A supreme being would've come up with that in the post immediately following your asinine post.

Actually, I dinged you for your approach which I explained with the rep...I could care less if you were acting that way towards Mili or any other member. The fact remains that your post was not received well and you acted foolishly in response to that.

can a mod please take my comment and all of the other ones regarding ZD's rants and move them to another thread like you usually do? Jcdenton40 (a member here now) has a cool site and that discusison has nothing to do with it.

And then he/she added, "I would know, I played one year of tag-football my Junior year of High School in summer gym class."
i played many a down at lb. while i can say with 100% certainty that this sort of thing does happen. i can also say with 100% certainty that i have NEVER taken part in anything like that nor have i ever even considered it. i have had people poke me in the eyes, spit in my face, punch me in the nuts, and stomp on my ankles while i was under piles. imo such persons are pathetic cowards who have no place in sports. i do not respect them as athletes nor do i respect them as human beings.

i have no interest in competing against someone who is so utterly lacking in skill, ability, and heart that they feel compelled to harm me physically outside the bounds of the game in order to level the playing field. as a coach, i would never choose to put a player so lacking in self confidence on the field.

this type of action is only as "inevitable" as cowardice. which isn't exactly a word i would expect to be used in context with someone playing lb. this type of activety is only as acceptable and "part of the game" as jumping someone with a baseball bat before the game is.

Reynolds Ramblings 2nd Round

Getting back to Milli's post. I coached track and cross country where the opportunities for gross physical violence were limited. I had, and enforced, team rules about language, playing smashmouth with girlfriend while in school identifying clothes, trash talking to opponents and behavior towards officials. I took the attitude that bad mouthing an opponent only diminished whatever it was that you thought you had accomplished in defeating or loosing to them. Were my kids saints? Hardly. Did they do those things? You bet. Did I always catch it or know about it? Nope.

The coaches' office was a place where I heard how other sports were coached. The basketball coach told me that there were clinics/camps in which one of the topics available to kids was on how to talk trash (!). That astounded me. (Not that he endorsed this behavior.)

I know that the football coaches spent a lot of time identifying players on the other team to watch out for, and I often heard WWF type boasting going on among the players about what they were, "going to do to 15 on Friday."

That kind of stuff made me glad I wasn't a football coach. I didn't want to be in the position of saying, "We need to stop 15 before he gets to the corner. You've got to put pressure on him and make him throw before he wants too," and then watching how that came to be played out by some 16 year old who wasn't sure what was ethical within the structure of the sport.

I'd be interested in knowing how those of you who did play HS football, or how the other coaches in BP experienced these situations.
