The problem with Friend's take on the proceedings is that it paints a picture for young people that suggest quitting is acceptable and accountability is unfair.

Didn't we already know that T Friend does not cotton to accountability?

A really good article with a message that I hope gets through to parents and to young people. Thanks for posting this.

I just hope that in referring to Tom Friend as "respected", the writer doesn't lose total credibility with his audience! :ohwell:

Steve --- I know what you mean about the credibility issue. However, consider this from the point of view of a writing task -- What he has done is called scene setting, or an inferred premise..

I think he did well to throw away a plaudit to Friend at the top of the article. Makes a less educated (to Buckeye / MoC / ESpIN) reader begin questioning the value of Friend's scribblings while perusing the article.
