Remote control helicopters...

OCBucksFan

I won a math debate
So today, this guy at work had this tiny remote control helicopter. We have kind of "office warfare" going on, so he flew it at me and then let me mess around with it. The thing was fun, but really, it just seemed like it would go up and down and maybe, if you were lucky, you could get it to tilt and fly foward.

Am I missing something? I mean it was fun, but you could actually navigate the thing it would be a lot more fun.

Anyone use these things and have some input? If I could find something that was actually steerable I could see it being a lot of fun, but so far, bleh.

My brother-in-law got one for Christmas. It was broken before noon. We couldn't get the fucking thing to turn. Went to Lancaster to get it fixed and the guy at the store crashed it during the demonstration.

He got a flight simulator for the computer but that was tough too.

Yeah, same boat, I could get this thing in the air, and maybe get it to tilt forward but as far as navigation goes, nada. The guy at work had one that I could crush with my hand so I flew it into a few things and it survived, he said it was like 20 bucks for 2 on a tv commercial.

Fun but frustrating.

They had a tiny one at the store that the guy controlled really well. The one my brother-in-law got was just too big for a beginner. The simulator was cool because you had to use the RC to control it on the screen but even that was tough. I think he gave up. It would be a lot of fun if they weren't so tough to steer.

When I got it going it was fun, I could see the enjoyment in them, but you couldn't tilt it left or right, and even getting it to tilt forward was a bitch, let off the throttle, let it start to nose dive then punch it and hope it went where you wanted it to.

Meh, probably not for me, I'll stick to internet porn and knocking up women and forcing them to move into a shoe, seems to be more my style.
