Reds Tidbits (2012 Season)

Chapman isn't a closer

He is just way too inconsistent. We saw the same thing last year. He has days where he throws 98-101 and is unhittable. Then he has days where he is in the mid 90's with no control and can't get anyone out.

Personally, I think it's lack of development. He has been jerked around too much by this organization.

It's like the back of a bottle of shampoo. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Also, this team has been hot compared to the rest of the NL lately, but wasting an outing like that from Leake is gonna burn you at some point.

The man is built to pitch every five days, despite what they think the radar gun says about his chances as a 9th inning guy.

I was just looking at the HR standings. Just imagine if Dunn, Hamilton, and Encarnacion were still on this team.

Home runs....

Dunn - 23
Hamilton - 22
Encarnacion - 19
Bruce - 16
Votto - 13
Phillips - 9
Cozart - 7
Hanigan/Mesaraco - 5

114 home runs in the starting lineup (which would probably be higher since those 3 would be playing at GABP). That would be on pace for the MLB record, and is just for the starting 8/9.

Of course the other team would just hit the ball to the left side of the field and run for days. Yet it would be a fun offense to watch.

True, but that would mean Dunn would have to hit 7th:

Hamilton
Cozart
Votto
Phillips
Bruce
Encarnacion
Dunn
Hanigan/Mesaraco

Not sure where he's hitting in the White Sox lineup, but that might mean fewer PAs; gotta split up the leftys.

Dunn hits 3rd for the White Sox, and has done that pretty much all year.

Ballgame. Arroyo is lucky as hell to only give up 2 runs (I am sure there will be more), and the offense looks like dogshit again vs. a very mediocre pitcher. Back to fucktard status after being swept by the shitty tribe. I can honestly see a return to .500 after the west coast trip. Only 1 good starting pitcher, a bullpen that is no longer dominant, and very average hitting at best.
