Reds Tidbits (2009 season)

you know that thing I said early in March about the Reds going 15-5 in April only to crush everyone's hopes in May? I think they turned the calendar page a couple weeks early.

Not only has this team been completely restructured in Dusty's image, but watching the game today you could feel the sense of hopelessness when Doumit connected.

why are you running with guys on 1st, and 2nd, 2 outs and a base hit? Votto gunned at home to kill any chance of scoring, and momentum.

Look at the bright side.......left field defense is a lot better, not as many K's and nowhere near as many rally killers.

I'm still waiting for the explinations as to why they are still losing from those who were so certain the losing was due to hitting homeruns and striking out.

Good luck on getting that explanation.

Contrary to what Herm Edwards thinks, you don't play to win the game. You play for the smug satisfaction of believing you play the game the right way, regardless of the outcome.

That and still getting to wear wristbands to work in your 50's.

Seriously though, Dunn and the 3run HR offense were the reason the Reds were losing according to the mouth of the Reds. The shitty pitching didn't have anything to do with it, it was all due to strikeouts, rally killers, poor left field defense and walking out to positions bewteen innings.

Well that evil influence is gone, the team is supposedly built around pitching(mediocre at best) and defense(mediocre at best) now (which in the simple minds of those in charge means you have to have a shitty offense) yet the losing remains.

I await word on how this is all one big misquote from lying Bob.

Nats are now 0-7. Hope Dunn is enjoying it there.

He probably doesn't care. He's getting paid and he's hitting well.

Perhaps that comment made you feel good (and no I never was a Dunn fan or a Reds fan for that matter), but the fact remains the team isn't one step better without him.

Not too excited about how Edinson loaded 'em up with nobody out (I thought that HBP on Weeks was gonna be a lot worse than it was) but I am very impressed that he got out of it.

Hart, Braun, and Fielder with the bases loaded is a tough spot for any pitcher. Hart hit one about as hard as you can, directly at AG, but then Braun and Fielder had weak, off balance contact for easy outs. Way to hang in there EV.

The Reds are playing baseball! Although this one could be a long night yet.
