Hey Sears, do/can you post on SOSH? (It certainly looks like you are reading the same stuff there I am. . .)

If so, you got a handle?

(edit: I should note, I am entirely too uncool to have yet been allowed to post. . .)

Yeah I'm over there. I haven't posted much, but I peruse the boards there on a daily basis.

I have a few accounts setup over there, just in case I feel a little tiborish. One of them is sears3820.

edit: They're notoriously slow for delays in the confirmation part of the registration process. I had to e-mail the guy a few times to expedite the process.

Just what the baseball boards need, another Wankee fan.

Spend more money and still suck!!

Yeah, those bandwagon red sox fans sure are in short supply these days.

Boston also spends a ton of money, so stop whining. Besides, the Yankees stupid spending on past-their-prime veterans (especially starting pitching) helps other teams via the luxury tax. So thank them for keeping the playing field level.

Thanks.

Not a Sox fan. Just a fan that hates them both. Although, I'll watch every time they're playing each other.

One thing I'll give credit to the Sox fans is that they're around even when the Sox don't win (obviously). They just seemed to get more annoying when they actually won. Not the Sox fan on this board, just all the fans I personally know.

Gee, aren't we testy today.

Shame on you for criticizing the way I cope. :wink2:

Anyone in the market for any of the following shirts.....

1) Johnny is my Homeboy
2) Johnny Damon as Uncle Sam with the caption, "I want you for Red Sox Nation"
3) I found Jesus at Fenway, with Johnny posing as Jesus Christ

Of course the Red Sox have a very large, loyal contingency of fans. They also have a very large, bandwagon contingent of celebrity douchebags and people who have never even been to Boston. These people are capitalizing off the Sox's recent success.

As for the loyal fans, I think the Sox have been pretty equivalent with the Cubs (up until the Sox won the series). It was cool to like them because they were so terrible. They never won anything, so you could brag to your friends about how loyal a fan you were to one of the most unsuccessful franchises in sports. You were the ultimate fan martyr. Now some of that aura is fading away. The Red Sox will always be one of MLB's more popular teams, but that top spot in the celebrated loser's hierarchy belongs solely to the cubbies now.
