Reardon says he's sorry...no kidding

The best game I ever went to, to this day was Memorial Day, 1991 - Yanks & Red Sox. The Yanks were absolutely putrid in those days, and I expected a loss everytime out.

Anyway, Boston's up 5-0 going into the bottom of the Ninth with Jeff Reardon on the mound. Reardon gives up three quick runs to close the defecit to 5-3. Then puts two more men on (no out) to face Mel Hall.

First pitch to Hall gets smacked into the rightfield middle deck (I couldn't even see the ball in the air, just the swing, Hall put his arms up in triumph, and the crowd go ballistic), Yankees win, 6-5, thaaaaaaaaa Yankeeeees Win!!

Who knew all that time that Wolfman Jack was masquerading himself as a relief pitcher?

Reardon free from supervision; Maroth released

Friday, October 26, 2007
From wire reports
Former All-Star relief pitcher Jeff Reardon was released from court supervision Thursday in West Palm Beach, Fla., a year after being found not guilty by reason of insanity for robbing a jewelry store.
"I'm glad to have it behind me and just try to get on with my life," Reardon said in a telephone interview after the court hearing. "I'm doing much better."
Reardon, 52, walked into Hamilton Jewelers in Palm Beach Gardens in December 2005 and handed an employee a note saying he had a gun and the store was being robbed. He fled with about $170. He did not have a gun.
