so do we have any followers of formula 1, le mans, rally car, or other various GT racing series on BP? 24 hours of le mans is currently going on right now in france and coverage continues on speed at 5:30.:banger: right now they are covering F1 qualifying at indy for the US gran prix. hamilton and alonso look strong as usual, but i have been impressed with the 19 yo kid filling in for the BMW team since he is currently running the 2nd fastest times. i was astonished to see kubica walk away from his horrific crash.

the street version of the evo and Sti are bastardly cars of god. they are in my top 5 in terms of utmost fun cars to drive with the AWD and the acceleration from a standstill is wicked. not to mention the price isn't bad either. i don't get to see much rally racing these days, but i love the sport to death.

audi is ridiculous in le mans. they dominated with the R8. the diesels explain theirselves, however they are probably going to have advantages and disadvantages depending on which track they are on. they weigh more but teams can compensate that, but their torque and fuel economy is ridiculous compared to the rest of the field. the only thing that sets the diesels farther from complete dominance is the issue with rev speed and able to pull out of the massive torque curve into a higher powerband which they don't really have. this makes them somewhat erratic in their powerband but other than that, they are better in a lot of ways. when you look at audi backing their team they have the money to fund the technology to work with the diesels to improve them and its showing. i would say the non-diesel cars are very competitive but they just need to make strides in fuel economy mainly. their steadier and higher top end power kinda competes with the torque of the diesels, but its not been enough so far.

sorry, but the R10 won. the peugots had a great run though and gave them their money's worth. i wish the vette team could of won though. they had a lot of little incidents and problems that hindered them enough to get behind by a lap and aston took the win.

Michael Schumacher, F1 driver, critically injured in ski accident

Doctors treating Michael Schumacher refused Monday to predict an outcome for the seven-time Formula One champion, saying they were taking his critical head injury "hour by hour" following a skiing accident.

Chief anesthesiologist Dr. Jean-Francois Payen told reporters that Schumacher was still in a medically induced coma and doctors were focusing only on his current condition.

"We cannot predict the future for Michael Schumacher," said Payen, who is also in charge of Grenoble University Hospital's intensive-care unit.

"He is in a critical state in terms of cerebral resuscitation," he added. "We are working hour by hour."

Schumacher, the most successful driver in Formula One history, arrived at the Grenoble hospital a day earlier, already in a coma, and immediately underwent brain surgery.

Reports: Doctors fear Schumacher ‘could be in a coma forever’

More than two weeks after Michael Schumacher was placed into a medically induced coma, multiple German papers reported Thursday that doctors fear the racing champion "could be in a coma forever."

Schumacher injured himself in a Dec. 29 skiing accident in the French Alps. He was taken to Grenoble University Hospital in France, where he was placed into the coma.

In the days since, the seven-time Formula One champion has undergone two brain surgeries and, despite some reports of small progress, doctors have been steadfast in their insistence that that status of his brain injuries remain critical. His 45th birthday was on Jan. 3, fans holding vigil outside the hospital in tribute.

According to Huffington Post UK on Thursday, the German magazine Focus spoke with experts on Schumacher's condition and reported that Schumacher could be in a coma forever". In addition, The Daily Mail reported doctors in France told the German newspaper Bild that Schumacher's condition is so grave there are currently no plans to wake him.

Full recovery from coma for Michael Schumacher unlikely

Nearly two months after Michael Schumacher suffered serious head injuries in a skiing accident and was placed in a drug-induced coma, some neurologists say the seven-time Formula One champion seems unlikely to make a full recovery.

The 45-year-old Schumacher fell while skiing in France and hit the right side of his head on a rock, cracking his helmet. Doctors operated to remove blood clots from his brain but some were left because they were too deeply embedded.

Schumacher's condition stabilized after he was placed in the coma. Late last month, doctors began the process of withdrawing sedatives to try to wake him up.

His agent, Sabine Kehm, said in an email on Friday that "Michael is still in the wake-up phase" and that "this phase can be long." Schumacher's family has released few details of his condition to protect his privacy.

"It does not bode well," said Dr. Tipu Aziz, professor of neurosurgery at Oxford University who is not connected to Schumacher's care. "The fact that he hasn't woken up implies that the injury has been extremely severe and that a full recovery is improbable."

Michael Schumacher out of coma

Nearly six months after sustaining serious head injuries in a skiing accident, seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher left a French hospital on Monday and was transferred to neighboring Switzerland to continue his recovery.

Schumacher "is not in a coma anymore," his manager, Sabine Kehm, said in a brief statement announcing that the German driver had left the Grenoble University Hospital, where he had been treated since his accident Dec. 29.

Kehm gave no further details of his condition or medical outlook, saying only that he would "continue his long phase of rehabilitation."
