BIRMINGHAM, Ala (WBRC-TV MyFoxAL.com) -- A new eye-catching exhibit outside the Birmingham Museum of Art is igniting controversial conversation around the community. The art plays off a popular credit car commercial that is intended to bring an end to violence. -Three piece suit: $250 dollars -Gold Chain: $400 dollars -9 MM Pistol: $79 Dollars -Bullet $.60 -Picking the perfect casket for your son: Priceless

So there's this piece of art that's basically a spoof of a mastercard ad that seems to have a bunch of people up in arms. I found it this morning on a message board, and started to look around and there's quite a few people pissed about it.

Maybe the stereotype of the black "son" being killed by a gun, i.e., being a gang member, is what folks are upset about...ya think?

Yeah, I understand that, but as best I can tell it was done by a black artist, and on top of that it's something every black person who speaks out about gang violence basically says. Yet, when there's a shocking piece of art that's intended to beat the point into people, people are upset?

I realize WHY people are upset about it, I was just curious about what other peoples thoughts on the subject would be more than anything else.
