I wouldn't go that far. Vrable has basically been forced to play him, and even then he doesn't do it fully.

I don’t know why Vrabel has been hesitant to start him over Stephenson, but I can tell you as someone who lives in Maine and works a lot in Massachusetts, Patriot fans are loving Henderson. Maybe he’s been saving him for the playoffs, keeping him healthy? But he’s showing even as a rookie he will get the needed results to help the team.

Henderson didn’t have a huge stat performance in this game, but his blocking was clutch. It must have felt great to beat Harbaugh and Mentor.

Per ESPN: New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson, who missed the season opener due to an ankle injury, is set to return for Sunday's home opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers. "I'm ready to go. Thank God I'm healed up now," Henderson said Thursday. "I'm excited to be back out here with my teammates." The speedy Henderson, who totaled nine rushing touchdowns in his 2025 rookie season, injured his right ankle in practice Aug. 24. Henderson returned to practice this week. He was a full participant Wednesday and his ankle responded well.
