You know, I've kind of wondered if he might come back. He's got Davis, Myers and Munford all back for what should make a formidable OL. He could actually break Archie's record, something nobody ever thought would happen. He can get the Heisman and perhaps improve his draft stock. Certainly can't blame JK if he leaves, but him staying might not be a pipe dream.
Whatever he does, he's locked himself in as a legend at Ohio State. And I'm not just talking stats. That performance last night was nothing short of amazing and JK has about the biggest balls and heart I've ever seen. I mean he was injured, not hurt last night. I expected him out the rest of the game when he went down with no contact. Then he comes back and while I don't expect much, I'm thinking he's just going out again. Instead, he runs downhill looking to lower the shoulder, picks up crucial blocks on blitzes, and had some big time catches to move the sticks. This thread needs a bump because damn, that was about as much heart and soul you can see in this sport. Kid is a high level NFL prospect and 99% of kids in his shoes sit out the game to protect their NFL prospects. Hell, even kids with no pro prospects might not be able to gut that out. But no, JK comes in and delivers on every level despite a clear injury.
I know he might have dropped a couple critical catches, but that's not what I'll remember about JK from last night. I'll remember an absolute warrior that made huge plays, and left his heart and soul out on that field. Would love to have JK back next year, but will have nothing but fond memories of him here.
